Aviv Clinics’ first location in the United States launched in June 2020 in The Villages®, Florida. Our vision is to help people enhance and nurture their brains and bodies to ensure a continuously happy, vital, and healthy life.

Our 12-week personalized medical program combines intense cognitive and physical training with unique Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy. Since opening, Aviv Clinics has provided more than 30,000 hyperbaric treatments at our cutting-edge medical and health facility in The Center for Advanced Healthcare at Brownwood.

The Aviv team brings exceptional research-based care and a systemic approach to our unique hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) protocol in Florida.

Hyperbaric Wing

Our state-of-the-art hyperbaric suites combine innovative design and advanced technologies with first-class comfort. Each multiplace suite is designed to accommodate 14 clients and a member of our medical team comfortably and safely. Our suites meet or exceed all regulatory requirements for hyperbaric treatment, with safety features that are some of the most advanced in the industry. Specially designed to evoke the feel of entering a first-class airline cabin, suites are furnished with plush seats, individual comfort controls, serene lighting, and personal tablets designed specifically to work in the HBOT suites’ pressurized environment.

Our tablets are unique to the Aviv Medical Program and engage clients in state-of-the-art cognitive training exercises while immersed in the hyperbaric environment. Doing so stimulates the regions of the brain that will most benefit from oxygen therapy. Clients can also enjoy entertainment and educational programming on these tablets while in the suites. Safety is maximized through our specialized hyperbaric protocol and an in-suite clinical team member during every hyperbaric “dive.”

Neurocognitive Wing

Cognitive performance is one of the pillars of the Aviv Medical Program. Each client experiences a cognitive training program unlike any other. After a detailed evaluation, we implement the latest research-validated tools to enhance your cognitive capacities. These include: memory, information processing speed, attention, executive function and others.

Dual task training has been clinically shown to enhance cognition, reduce age-related cognitive decline, and improve physical function and quality of life in older adults. The Aviv Medical Program employs multimodal training regularly to maximize potential benefits. In addition to completing specialized cognitive exercises during hyperbaric therapy sessions, our cutting-edge cognitive training gym encourages clients to complete brain exercises while performing physical activity.

Physiological Wing

Using the results of musculoskeletal, neurological, physiological, and functional evaluations, each Aviv client is prescribed a combination of physiotherapy, physical training, and nutritional coaching. This combination helps build the foundation for success in the Aviv Medical Program.

Clients also receive additional workout time at state-of-the-art smart gyms that offer both physical training and performance diagnostics. Each client also receives a personalized nutrition plan based on comprehensive diet intake, habits and preferences, health conditions, and their personal goals.

The Experience of an Aviv Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber

Clients enjoy comprehensive, personalized hyperbaric oxygen therapy at our Florida facility. Our customized, data-based programs are designed to enhance your physical and cognitive performance in a safe, comfortable, and luxurious environment.

Aviv’s hyperbaric oxygen therapy protocol is facilitated in custom-built pressurized multiplace suites to deliver 100% pure, breathable oxygen. This elevates oxygen in the body 10-15 times above normal levels. Oxygen levels are fluctuated throughout the session to accelerate the body’s healing and support optimal health.

The HBOT suites are temperature-controlled and spacious to allow patients to stand, stretch, and move around. They’ve been compared to being in a roomy first-class airline cabin. Undergoing a “dive” may cause patients to experience some mild pressure in the ears, similar to taking off and landing in an airplane. Specialized tablets are available to assist in brain exercises and allow for online activities. Our suites also provide a significant health and safety advantage by allowing clinicians to monitor patients during treatment.

Amir Hadanny, MD, PhD

Chief Medical Officer and Head of Research

Dr. Hadanny is a certified neurosurgeon, hyperbaric physician, and Chief Medical Research Officer at the Sagol Center. For the past decade, he has worked alongside Dr. Efrati researching neurorehabilitation, neuroplasticity and physiology, publishing more than 25 papers on the effects of HBOT on cognitive and physical performance. Before joining the Sagol Center, Dr. Hadanny was Chief Resident in the Galil Medical Center neurosurgery department. He earned his MD from Tel Aviv University and his PhD in Bioinformatics and Machine Learning from Bar Ilan University.

Dr. Elamir is an internal medicine physician with over 10 years of experience. Prior to joining Aviv Clinics, he spent five years practicing Internal Medicine at the MM Jersey City Breathing Center while owning and running his own medical spa in Jersey City, New Jersey. He graduated from Rutgers University prior to attending St. Matthew’s University School of Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine Internship and Residency at RWJ-Barnabas: Jersey City Medical Center Program where he was Chief Resident and a member of the ethics committee. He is a Fellow of The American Board of Internal Medicine and The American Board of Aesthetic Medicine.

Dr. Kevin Cooke joins Aviv Clinics with more than eight years of experience in internal medicine and primary care. Prior to joining Aviv, he spent six years practicing family medicine in Apopka, FL, and was one of two lead physicians overseeing a group of 38 physicians in the north Orlando area. Dr. Cooke graduated from Southeastern University before attending Ross University School of Medicine and subsequently completed his family medicine internship and residency at Virginia Tech Carilion Clinic. During his training, he received the intern of the year award, served as recruitment chair and held a leadership position on the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education committee. He is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.

Dr. Miller is a clinical psychologist for Aviv Clinics in The Villages, Florida. Dr. Miller is a brain health expert with a doctoral degree in psychology, specializing in neurological health. He is a Colorado native and has 30 years of experience working in the areas of neuropsychology, geriatrics, health and rehab psychology. Prior to coming to Aviv Clinics, he worked in a pain medicine practice, providing evaluations and interventions to help patients manage chronic pain and other health and psychological conditions. He had a private practice where he performed neuropsychological evaluations, consultations and disability examinations of veterans.

Clinical Program Manager Paul Moore is a Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse and administrator with over 30 years experience. His teams have attained JCAHO Specialty Certifications in Total Hip and Total Knee Replacement care as well as CARF Specialty Certification in stroke and amputee care. Paul has a Master in Healthcare Administration degree from Missouri State University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Southwest Baptist University.

Dr. Lowry is a licensed clinical psychologist specialized in clinical neuropsychology. Prior to joining Aviv Clinics, he practiced in various medical and clinical settings assessing cognitive concerns and providing targeted behavioral interventions for individuals across the lifespan. His clinical interests include acquired brain injuries (stroke, TBI, and sport-related concussion), age-related cognitive decline, neurodegenerative disorders, cognitive rehabilitation and behavioral strategies to optimize health and performance.

Hyperbaric Program Manager

Joseph Harris is the Hyperbaric Program Manager for Aviv Clinics in The Villages, Florida. Joseph leads a team of Hyperbaric Technologists and is responsible for the overall maintenance of the hyperbaric suites and all the supporting components. He provides oversight of the chamber suite safety program as well as training and compliance for the hyperbaric staff. Joseph joined Aviv Clinics after 16 years in one of the leading Hyperbaric Centers in the United States where his primary focus was on patient-centered care and the advancement of Hyperbaric Medicine in the U.S. Joseph has also led community outreach through continuing education for first responders, firefighters, nursing, and respiratory therapy students.
