What is Fibromyalgia?

Fibromyalgia, also called fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS), is a long-term condition that causes debilitating pain all over the body. People with FMS often also suffer from extreme tiredness, difficulty sleeping, brain fog, memory problems and mood issues. FMS affects 2%-4% of the population and is nine times more common in women than in men.
While the exact cause of FMS is unknown, in many cases it appears to be triggered by either severe emotional stress or a physical insult such as traumatic brain injury or viral disease. Recent studies found that the syndrome is related to certain malfunctioning regions in the brain which are responsible for pain sensation, pain tolerance, and the ability to process pain signals. <br>

Clinical studies at the Sagol Center found that the Aviv Medical Protocol can improve the symptoms of Fibromyalgia (FMS) and enhance your overall wellbeing and quality of life.

The goal of Aviv’s unique Medical Protocol is to kickstart the healing process in damaged brain tissue. For people with FMS, brain tissue damage generally relates to the central pain sensitization region, which is why it can cause pain throughout the body.

We specialize in diagnosing the severity of brain tissue damage. We then assess your suitability for treatment with physical and neurological tests, and advise on a personalized treatment plan.

FMS and HBOT:
Clear, proven research

Recent clinical studies at the Sagol Center found that HBOT can improve the symptoms of FMS and enhance overall wellbeing and quality of life. The study provides evidence that HBOT can improve the symptoms and life quality of FMS patients.

Moreover, it shows that HBOT can induce neuroplasticity and significantly rectify abnormal brain activity in pain related areas of FMS patients. HBOT improved symptoms of FMS in 70% of patients.
